Lead Chair (until 9.19.27)

 Qualifications:

  • 4 years continuous sobriety
  • Member of the 319 home group
  • Basic competency using Google applications to include:
    • Google Docs – can create and edit documents and share documents with stakeholders 
    • Sheets – can perform data entry and look up members by name or email 
    • Gmail – can generate and file email messages using the 319’s labeling system
  • Strong commitment to the confidentiality of members
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Wide availability to handle emergencies as they arise
  • Comprehensive knowledge of AA’s 12 Traditions and working familiarity with the 12 Concepts for World Service
  • Previous experience in AA service at the group, district or area level
  • Ability to use the spirit of the twelve traditions in a service capacity for the benefit of the 319 as a whole
  • Trained, or be willing to be trained, to host and chair 319 meetings as well as acting as host/chair at least 4 hours per week

  Duties:

  • In the absence of the Head Chair, runs Service Committee and Group Conscience / Business meetings whenever possible. 
  • Check confidential and chair email accounts daily and reply and/or forward emails as appropriate. 
  • Maintain good working relationships with all Service Committee and sub-committee members
  • Coordinate with Service Committee heads regarding their areas of responsibility and any progress or problems they are experiencing.
  • In concert with Spiritual Support work with members individually to resolve conflicts or issues, including issues with disruptive members
  • Maintains familiarity with the activities of all subcommittees so as to be able to offer assistance when needed
  • Empower Service Committee members and sub-committees to resolve issues and create new ways of doing things within the 319
  • Develop familiarity with District and Area level AA representatives and work with them as needed alongside the GSR

Qualifications:

  • 2 years continuous sobriety
  • Member of 319 home group
  • Strong basic competency using Google applications to include:
    • Google Docs – can create and edit documents with graphics, generate business-format letters, share documents with stakeholders and manage changes if requested
    • Sheets – can create and edit spreadsheets, including ability to filter sheet contents, create charts and perform data input accurately
    • Gmail – can generate and file email messages using the 319’s labeling system
    • File management operations using Drive – can ensure financial documents are stored in appropriate folders and share access to documents when requested with proper authorization
  • Basic accounting skills to include budget creation and monitoring, creation and upkeep of spreadsheets to record income, expenses and account balance and/or use of commercial application to record these items
  • Access to a Chase Bank for 319 account
  • Willingness to work towards attainment of non-profit status
  • Trained, or be willing to be trained, to host and chair 319 meetings as well as acting as host/chair at least 4 hours per week

  Duties:

  • Assist the Treasurer with the following duties
    • Maintain the financial records of the 319 in virtual form on the Freedom Drive
    • Prepare monthly financial statements to share with the Service Committee or members upon request 
    • Prepare an annual budget for the fiscal year starting January 1st and monitor the budget monthly 
    • Maintain a list of recurring expenses and their due dates and/or renewal dates
    • Prepare and record disbursements for expenses following standard accounting practices
    • Maintain records of donations to the 319 according to non-profit accounting standards
    • Prepare annual profit/loss statements as required by the IRS and/or New York State Taxation and file any paperwork required to fulfill requirements of these entities

  • 5 years continuous sobriety
  • Member of the 319 home group
  • Basic competency using Google applications to include:
    • Google Docs – can create and edit documents and share documents with stakeholders 
    • Sheets – can perform data entry to record meeting suspensions and look up members by name or email to check for prior suspensions.  
    • Gmail – can generate and file email messages using the 319’s labeling system
  • Comprehensive knowledge of AA’s 12 Traditions and working familiarity with the 12 Concepts for World Service
  • Strong commitment to the confidentiality of members
  • Trained, or be willing to be trained, to host and chair 319 meetings as well as acting as host/chair at least 4 hours per week

 Duties:

  • Address problems with disruptive participants and conflicts within the 319 community
  • Attends Service Committee and Group Conscience / Business meetings whenever possible
  • Work with a sub-committee of standing group officer and group members with substantial sobriety 
  • Checks sub-committee email account daily for new concerns that need to be addressed.
  • Determine appropriate action in consultation with the sub-committee, meet with participant and prepare email to document to them the outcome of the discussion. 
  • Communicate any changes in service status of our service team volunteers in the WhatsApp service threads when change is initiated by Spiritual Support

Qualifications:

  • Have at least two years of continuous sobriety 
  • Member of the 319 home group
  • Familiar with the group’s history, priorities, traditions, and procedures 
  • Ability to listen to all points of view
  • Availability to regularly attend district meetings and area assemblies and the group’s business meetings
  • Have a working familiarity with the Twelve Traditions and A.A. recovery and service literature
  • Previous familiarity with the G.S.O. and area websites
  • Trained, or be willing to be trained, to host and chair 319 meetings as well as acting as host/chair at least 4 hours per week

Duties:

  • Regularly attend and participate in area assemblies and district meetings when the GSR cannot attend
  • Make reports to the group for meeting they attend
  • Keep the group up-to-date on the latest A.A. literature and service material
  • Supply the district registrar with up-to-date group information

 Duties:

  • Recruit a subcommittee of schedulers and work collaboratively with them to ensure as much as possible that schedulers are available during the four scheduling segments of each day (Twilight, Morning Zoo, Afternoon Gratitude, Prime Time).
  • Empower schedulers to work independently to assist them to maintain a good balance between volunteer duties and their lives.
  • Hold periodic (every 1-2 weeks) meetings with schedulers to discuss problems with scheduling and/or disruptive members.
  • With schedulers, post hourly updates of shifts needing to be filled.  If needed, contact Service Committee members trained to pause the meeting and post pause related posts.
  • Work closely with the Training Committee to ensure all service members are able to follow the guidelines for service on the meeting.  When warranted, refer service members to the trainers for additional training.
  • Checks sub-committee email account daily, promptly responding to emails.
  • Attend Service Committee and Group Conscience / Business meetings whenever possible.

  • Trained, or be willing to be trained, to host and chair 319 meetings as well as acting as host/chair at least 4 hours per week

Duties:

  • Maintain the 319 website adding new content/modifying current content as requested
  • Answer technology related questions and how the tools are used in this role
  • Maintain passwords using an encrypted password manager to both secure the 319 accounts and grant access as needed
  • Build and manage workflows to automate services within the 319
  • Create email campaigns to inform the members of events, changes, etc.
  • Find creative solutions to work with changing technology to keep the 319 technologically relevant
  • Assist training team with creating training tools including training videos when required
  • Manage access to 319 documents 
  • Overall work to maintain a balance between secure and accessible for 319 members
